
LAHORE: In the 19th match of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) 10, Lahore Qalandars delivered a resounding performance to defeat Islamabad United by 88 runs at Gaddafi Stadium.
Islamabad United won the toss and elected to field first, a decision that backfired as Lahore Qalandars posted a formidable total of 209 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
For Lahore, Fakhar Zaman top-scored with 44 runs, while Sikandar Raza added a vital 39. Daryl Mitchell contributed 28, Mohammad Naeem scored 25, and Abdullah Shafique chipped in with 22. Sam Billings remained unbeaten on 38, anchoring the innings towards the end.
On the bowling front, Imad Wasim and Jason Holder were the standout performers for Islamabad, taking two wickets each.
In response, Islamabad United failed to keep up with the required run rate and were bowled out for just 121 runs. Andre Gous top-scored with 41, Agha Salman made 36, and skipper Shadab Khan added 13 — the only players to reach double digits.
Lahore Qalandars’ bowlers dominated the game, with Haris Rauf claiming four wickets and Sikandar Raza securing three, dismantling Islamabad’s batting lineup.
