Lahore: In a thrilling finale to HBL PSL 10, Lahore Qalandars not only clinched their third title by defeating Quetta Gladiators by 6 wickets but also etched their name in the record books with a historic chase.
In the final held at Gaddafi Stadium, Quetta Gladiators posted a strong total of 201/9 after opting to bat first. However, Lahore Qalandars, powered by composed knocks from their top order, successfully chased down the 202-run target on the fifth ball of the final over.
With this victory, Lahore became the first team in T20 cricket history to successfully chase a target of 200+ runs in a T20 final, setting a new world record.
The previous highest successful chase in a T20 final was by Kolkata Knight Riders, who chased down 200 runs against Kings XI Punjab in the 2014 IPL final.
This win not only brought Lahore Qalandars their third PSL trophy but also earned them international acclaim for rewriting the record books in T20 finals.
