In a story of unmatched commitment and heroics, Sikandar Raza helped Lahore Qalandars clinch their third Pakistan Super League (PSL) title—despite arriving in Lahore just hours before the final.
The HBL PSL 10 Final, played at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium, saw Quetta Gladiators post a strong total of 201/9 after electing to bat first. In reply, Lahore Qalandars chased down the 202-run target on the fifth ball of the final over, securing a thrilling 6-wicket victory.
Raza, who had been playing a Test match for Zimbabwe in Nottingham just 24 hours earlier, took three flights, traversing Birmingham, Dubai, and Abu Dhabi, before finally landing in Lahore shortly before the final.
Despite the fatigue, Raza walked into the middle and smashed 22 runs off just 7 balls, including the winning shot, cementing his team’s place as champions once again.
In his own words:
“I had dinner in Birmingham, breakfast in Dubai, lunch in Abu Dhabi, and hit the winning shot in Lahore. I knew my team needed me. I was tired, but I was determined to play every ball with full focus.”
Kusal Perera anchored the chase with an unbeaten 62, while Raza’s explosive finish sealed the win in dramatic fashion.
Cricket fans and analysts alike are praising Sikandar Raza’s incredible dedication and performance, calling it one of the most memorable moments in PSL history.
