
Layyah: In a significant move to empower women through health and wellness, a modern women’s gym has been officially inaugurated at the District Sports Complex Layyah. The facility is now equipped with state-of-the-art fitness machines and aims to provide a safe, high-quality environment for women to pursue their fitness goals.
Deputy Commissioner Layyah, Ms. Ameera Baidar, led the inauguration ceremony as the chief guest. Assistant Commissioner Mr. Haris Hameed Niazi also attended the event, showing support for the initiative.
During the ceremony, District Sports Officer Mr. Imtiaz Ahmad Bhatti and gym instructor Ms. Summeah Qayyum briefed the Deputy Commissioner on the newly installed equipment, available fitness services, and the overall vision behind the project.
While inaugurating the gym, DC Ameera Baidar highlighted the importance of such initiatives in promoting women’s health and well-being. She expressed appreciation for the support provided by the Chief Minister of Punjab and the Director General of Sports Punjab, whose efforts made the project a reality.
“This gym is more than a facility—it’s a statement about the value we place on women’s health, empowerment, and self-confidence,” said DC Baidar. She added that promoting a healthy lifestyle among women contributes not only to individual well-being but also to a stronger, more progressive society.
At the end of the event, the Deputy Commissioner also visited other sections of the Sports Complex and held discussions on future enhancements to further support community wellness.
The opening of the women’s gym marks a meaningful step forward for Layyah, setting a positive example in health-driven development and social inclusion.
