Lahore—After Pakistan sealed the three-match T20I series against Bangladesh with a commanding 57-run victory in the second match, fast bowler Haris Rauf lauded the team’s batting performance, saying the batters are embracing modern-day cricket.
Speaking after the match, Rauf remarked, “Our batters are playing modern-day cricket. In T20s, 200+ scores have become the norm, and our players are adapting well to that standard. As bowlers, we also try to minimize runs and support the team plan.”
In Friday’s match at Gaddafi Stadium, Pakistan posted 201/6, while Bangladesh were bowled out for 144, giving Pakistan an unassailable 2-0 lead in the series.
Reflecting on his role and team dynamics, Rauf said, “We always consider the available players as our partners. I’ve played a lot with Shaheen and Naseem, and now I’m getting the chance to play with Hasan Ali, and I’m learning from him as well. We’re given plans according to the situation and are working on small improvements, which are paying off.”
He also touched on player workload, saying, “Globally, top bowlers play under rotation policies. We didn’t have strong bench strength earlier, so we had to play continuously. A rotation system might be introduced in the future to manage player fatigue.”
Commenting on team structure and leadership changes, Haris Rauf noted, “Frequent changes in management, coaching, and captaincy have disturbed the team’s rhythm. Such transitions affect performance. A management team is built with a long-term plan, not a six-month goal. The new setup, led by Saim Ayub and supported by others, is focused on consistency. With this direction, we expect better results going forward.”
