
Layyah—As part of the Chief Minister Summer Games, girls’ hockey trials were successfully held at Veera Stadium, Layyah, under the supervision of the Punjab Sports & Youth Affairs Department. The trials attracted enthusiastic participation from young and talented female athletes across the district.
Chief Guest Ms. Samia Atta Shehani and Additional Deputy Commissioner General Shabbir Ahmed Dogar attended the event, where they observed the trials, interacted with the players, and praised their dedication and performance. Other notable attendees included District Sports Officer Imtiaz Ahmed Bhatti, Tehsil Officer Marina Rafiq, and several other key officials.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief guest emphasized that sports are a powerful means to engage youth in healthy and productive activities. She appreciated the efforts of the Government of Punjab, especially the Chief Minister and Director General of Sports, for launching initiatives aimed at promoting sports and creating platforms for young talent.
District Sports Officer Imtiaz Bhatti highlighted that the primary goal of these trials is to identify and promote skilled players so they can represent Layyah at provincial and national levels.
