LAHORE: The Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 continues with another high-stakes encounter tonight as Lahore Qalandars take on Islamabad United at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium. The match is scheduled to begin at 8 PM local time.
Islamabad United, currently sitting at the top of the points table, will be led by national all-rounder Shadab Khan. Meanwhile, Lahore Qalandars, positioned third on the table, will be captained by star fast bowler Shaheen Shah Afridi. Both teams are looking to consolidate their positions as the tournament enters a decisive phase.
Looking ahead, two matches are scheduled for May 1. Karachi Kings will face Multan Sultans at 3:30 PM, followed by another evening fixture where Lahore Qalandars will square off against Quetta Gladiators at 8 PM, both at the Gaddafi Stadium.
Speaking to media, Lahore Qalandars’ all-rounder Sikandar Raza addressed criticism toward the team’s top-order performance. “One player doesn’t win all matches. If the top order collapses, it’s our turn to step up. The top order, especially Fakhar Zaman, has consistently performed year after year,” he said.
Raza defended teammate Naeem and emphasized the need for patience, stating, “We’re backing Naeem. It’s a team game, and everyone has a role to play. In Lahore, playing the new ball is challenging. Even scoring 40 runs in the powerplay without losing wickets is acceptable.”
He further added, “I don’t believe we’ve built momentum just yet. There’s still room for improvement. We’re not delivering our full potential, but we’re working on it.”
As the league progresses, tonight’s fixture holds critical value for both teams in the race to the playoffs.
