LAHORE: Preparations for the National Women’s T20 Tournament have been finalized, with the event scheduled to kick off on May 7 in Karachi. Five regional teams will compete in this year’s edition of the domestic tournament.
As part of the initiative to enhance player fitness and readiness, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) conducted a nationwide fitness testing program for women cricketers. Over 100 players from across seven major cities—Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Islamabad, and Bahawalpur—participated in the program.
In line with the PCB chairman’s directives, the fitness initiative aimed to ensure that participating players are physically prepared for the demands of the tournament.
A pre-tournament training camp will be held from May 3 to May 6, providing the players an opportunity to sharpen their skills and team coordination ahead of the competition. The tournament will officially commence on May 7, with all matches scheduled to take place in Karachi. The final match is set for May 24.
The tournament promises to be a key platform for emerging talent and established stars to showcase their abilities in Pakistan’s growing women’s cricket scene.
