
Lahore: The Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team continued their dominant run in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier, defeating Bangladesh by 7 wickets in their final match of the tournament held in Lahore.
Batting first, Bangladesh Women posted a total of 178/9 in 50 overs. Ritu Moni led the scoring with a steady 48 runs, while Fahima Khatun contributed a valuable 44-run knock in the middle order.
Pakistan’s bowling unit was once again impressive, with Sadia Iqbal standing out by taking 3 wickets. Fatima Sana and Diana Baig supported her efforts with 2 wickets each, effectively restricting Bangladesh to a modest total.
In response, Pakistan Women chased down the target in just 40 overs, losing only three wickets. Muneeba Ali top-scored with a fluent 69 runs, while Aliya Riaz remained unbeaten on 52, guiding the team to a comfortable victory.
With this win, Pakistan finished the tournament unbeaten, securing five consecutive victories and reinforcing their status as one of the most consistent teams in the qualifiers. The team had already qualified for the ICC Women’s World Cup, set to be held later this year in India.
