A sudden and intense hailstorm hit Islamabad on Tuesday, leaving various parts of the city covered in large hailstones and causing considerable damage to property. Among those affected was former Pakistani cricketer Umar Gul, whose video of clearing hail from outside his house has gone viral on social media.
The powerful storm, accompanied by strong winds and heavy rain, shattered car windows, damaged solar panels, and even uprooted trees across the capital. Numerous residents shared clips online, highlighting the impact of the extreme weather event.
In a video shared on his Instagram, Umar Gul can be seen using a tool to push aside thick layers of hailstones accumulated at his front door. The former pacer also gave a glimpse of the street outside his home, which was blanketed in white, with fallen leaves and debris scattered due to the storm.
“This was truly terrifying. I’ve never seen anything like it,” Gul wrote in the caption of his post. He also added a heartfelt prayer: “May Allah have mercy on us all. Amen. Stay safe, everyone.”
