
The Pakistan women’s cricket team has officially qualified for the ICC Women’s World Cup 2025, following an impressive win against Thailand in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifier held in Lahore.
Winning the toss, Pakistan opted to bat first and posted a competitive total of 205 for 5 in the allotted 50 overs. Sidra Ameen led the charge with a solid knock of 80 runs, while captain Fatima Sana contributed a crucial 62 to guide the team to a strong position.
In response, Thailand’s batting lineup struggled against the disciplined Pakistani bowling attack and were bundled out for 118 runs in the 35th over. The victory margin reflected Pakistan’s dominance across both innings.
Pakistan’s bowlers put up a collective show, with Fatima Sana, Nashra Sandhu, and Rameen Shamim each claiming three wickets apiece, dismantling Thailand’s chances of chasing down the target.
For her stellar all-around performance, Fatima Sana was named Player of the Match, underlining her leadership and impact in Pakistan’s winning campaign.
This victory marks Pakistan Women’s fourth consecutive win in the tournament, sealing their spot in the Women’s Cricket World Cup 2025 and continuing their impressive form on the international stage.
