
Pakistan’s young squash talent made the nation proud by securing four titles at the Australian Junior Open Squash Tournament, showcasing impressive performances across various age categories.
In the girls’ category, two sisters, Mahnoor and Mehvesh Ali, emerged as champions. Mahnoor Ali dominated the Girls U-13 final, defeating Rio Kuwabata in straight sets with a convincing scoreline of 11-2, 11-5, 11-6.
Her elder sister, Mehvesh Ali, captured the Girls U-17 title with an equally dominant performance against Aideen Elmajo, winning 11-5, 11-5, 11-7. Both sisters displayed remarkable skill and composure, establishing themselves as rising stars in junior squash.
In the Girls U-15 final, the youngest of the Ali sisters, Sehrish, put up a tough fight but narrowly missed out on the title after a close contest.
In the boys’ category, Azaan Ali Khan triumphed in the U-17 final, defeating Henry Cross in straight sets to claim the championship with a 3-0 victory. Meanwhile, Ahmed Ali Naz brought home the Boys U-11 title by overcoming Freddie Goldsmith in a competitive final.
