
Lahore: The Pakistan Women’s Cricket Team continued their dominant run in the ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers, securing a convincing 65-run win over the West Indies in Lahore, marking their third consecutive victory in the tournament.
Batting first, Pakistan posted a competitive total of 191 runs in the final over. Sidra Ameen led the charge with a solid 54-run knock, while Muneeba Ali added 33 runs to the tally. Contributions also came from Sidra Nawaz (23 runs) and Aliya Riaz (20 runs), as the team built a respectable total on the scoreboard.
From the West Indies bowling unit, Hayley Matthews, Afy Fletcher, and Karishma Ramharack each took two wickets, applying some pressure throughout the innings.
In reply, the West Indian batters struggled to gain momentum against Pakistan’s disciplined bowling attack and were bowled out for just 126 runs. Aaliyah Alleyne was the top scorer with 22 runs, while Shabika Gajnabi added 21.
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana delivered an impressive bowling performance, claiming 3 wickets for just 16 runs. Rameen Shamim and Nashra Sandhu supported the effort with two wickets each, dismantling the opposition’s batting line-up.
With this win, Pakistan now stands at six points, significantly boosting their chances of qualifying for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup. The team’s consistency and strong all-around performances continue to raise hopes for a successful campaign.
