
Rawalpindi: In the fourth match of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, Lahore Qalandars bounced back in style with a commanding 79-run victory over Quetta Gladiators in Rawalpindi.
After winning the toss, Quetta Gladiators opted to bowl first, putting Lahore Qalandars into bat. Lahore responded strongly, posting a massive total of 219 runs for the loss of 6 wickets in their allotted 20 overs.
Fakhar Zaman led the charge with an aggressive 67-run innings, which included 3 sixes and 7 fours. Sam Billings played a quickfire and unbeaten knock of 50 runs off just 19 balls, hitting 4 sixes and 4 boundaries. Abdullah Shafique and Daryl Mitchell added valuable contributions with 37 runs each, while Mohammad Naeem and Sikandar Raza chipped in with 10 and 6 runs, respectively.
For Quetta, Akeal Hosein and Abrar Ahmed picked up 2 wickets each, while Faheem Ashraf and Usman Tariq claimed one wicket apiece.
Chasing a steep target of 220 runs, Quetta Gladiators struggled to build momentum and were bowled out for 140 runs in 17 overs. Rilee Rossouw was the top scorer with 44 runs, while Kusal Mendis added 28 runs. Faheem Ashraf showed some resistance with 21 runs, but the rest of the batting order collapsed under pressure.
Other notable contributions included Shoaib Malik (14), Akeal Hosein (13), and Abrar Ahmed (6). Saud Shakeel, Hasan Ali, and Mohammad Amir managed just 1 run each, while Finn Allen was dismissed for a duck.
Lahore’s bowlers delivered a clinical performance, with Shaheen Shah Afridi, Asif Afridi, and Sikandar Raza picking up 2 wickets each, while Haris Rauf took 1 wicket to seal the win.
