
Rawalpindi: In the third match of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, Karachi Kings pulled off a stunning chase to defeat Multan Sultans by 4 wickets, securing their first win of the season in a high-scoring encounter.
The match, played at the National Bank Cricket Arena in Karachi, saw the Karachi Kings chase down a mammoth target of 235 runs in the final over, with 6 wickets down.
Multan Sultans’ Innings
Batting first after losing the toss, Multan Sultans got off to a solid start with Mohammad Rizwan and Shai Hope adding 55 runs for the opening stand. Hope was dismissed for just 8 runs, followed by Usman Khan, who managed 19.
Captain Mohammad Rizwan led from the front with a spectacular unbeaten century, scoring 105 runs off 63 balls, including 5 sixes and 9 fours. He was well supported by Michael Bracewell, who smashed a quickfire 44 off 17 balls, and Kamran Ghulam, who chipped in with 36 runs.
Multan posted a daunting total of 234/3 in their allotted 20 overs. For Karachi, Hasan Ali, Abbas Afridi, and Khushdil Shah picked up a wicket each.
Karachi Kings’ Chase
Chasing 235, Karachi Kings faced early pressure, losing 4 wickets for just 79 runs. However, a game-changing partnership between James Vince and Khushdil Shah turned the match around. The duo added 142 runs for the fifth wicket, reviving hopes for Karachi.
James Vince played a sensational knock, scoring 101 runs, while Khushdil Shah provided strong support with a blistering 60-run innings. Despite late nerves, Karachi reached the target in the final over, finishing at 235/6.
For Multan, Aqif Javed was the pick of the bowlers with 3 wickets, but it wasn’t enough to defend the massive total.
