Rawalpindi: In a surprising turn of events during the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, Peshawar Zalmi captain Babar Azam etched his name into the record books for an unwanted reason.
During the second match of the tournament at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, Babar Azam was dismissed for a duck (0) against Quetta Gladiators, falling to a delivery from left-arm pacer Mohammad Amir. With this dismissal, Babar climbed up the list of players with the most ducks in PSL history.
This was a rare failure for the usually consistent top-order batter, and it placed him level with former Zalmi wicketkeeper-batter Kamran Akmal. Babar has now surpassed Shaheen Shah Afridi, captain of Lahore Qalandars, on this unwanted list.
Currently, the record for most ducks in PSL history is held by Imad Wasim, the all-rounder from Islamabad United, who has been dismissed without scoring 12 times. He is followed by Wahab Riaz, former Peshawar Zalmi fast bowler, with 10 ducks.
