Pakistan’s young opening batsman, Hassan Nawaz, has made an unwanted record during the T20 series against New Zealand. In the fifth and final match of the series in Wellington, he was dismissed for a duck, marking his third zero in the same series.
Hassan Nawaz made his T20 international debut on March 16 against New Zealand. Unfortunately, his first outing was not memorable, as he was dismissed without scoring. The disappointment continued in the second match when he once again failed to get off the mark. However, he surprised everyone in the third T20 by scoring a brilliant century, showcasing his talent and potential. Despite this remarkable comeback, he was dismissed for another duck in the fourth game, followed by yet another zero in the final match.
With three ducks in a single series, Hassan Nawaz now holds the record for the most dismissals without scoring by a Pakistani opener in a T20 series. The unwanted record puts him at the top of the list of Pakistani openers with the most ducks in a single series:
- Hassan Nawaz – 3 times (5 innings)
- Shahzaib Hasan—2 times (2 innings)
- Mohammad Hafeez – 2 times (3 innings)
- Mohammad Rizwan—2 times (4 innings)
