
Lahore: Quetta Gladiators have booked their place in the HBL PSL 10 final after defeating Islamabad United in the first qualifier held in Lahore.
Batting first after winning the toss, the Quetta Gladiators posted a strong total of 209/6 in their 20 overs. Key contributions came from Dinesh Chandimal, who remained unbeaten on 48, along with Faheem Ashraf (45), Finn Allen (41), and Avishka Fernando (32). Captain Saud Shakeel scored 15, while Rilee Rossouw and Hasan Nawaz added 16 and 6 runs, respectively.
In response, Islamabad United struggled under pressure and were bowled out for 179 in the final over, falling 31 runs short of the target. Sahibzada Farhan was the top scorer with 52 runs, while Agha Salman chipped in with 44 and Rassie van der Dussen added 35. Skipper Shadab Khan managed 16, with the rest of the batting order collapsing quickly.
Quetta’s bowlers were impressive, with Usman Tariq picking up 3 wickets, Mohammad Amir and Faheem Ashraf claiming 2 each, while Abrar Ahmed and Mohammad Wasim Jr. grabbed one apiece.
With this win, the Quetta Gladiators advance to the PSL 10 final, while Islamabad United will now have to battle through the second eliminator for another shot at the title.
