Rawalpindi: In a stunning display of batting firepower, Quetta Gladiators thrashed Islamabad United by 109 runs in the 26th match of HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, played at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
After winning the toss, Islamabad United opted to field first—only to face a run onslaught by Quetta’s top order. Quetta posted a massive 263/3 in their allotted 20 overs.
Rilee Rossouw stole the show with a blistering century off just 44 balls, smashing 6 sixes and 13 fours. This marked his third century in PSL history, making him the overseas player with the most hundreds in PSL.
Young sensation Hassan Nawaz also lit up the ground with an unbeaten 100 off 45 balls, featuring 9 sixes and 4 fours, taking Quetta to their highest-ever PSL total.
Islamabad’s bowlers were left helpless, with only Naseem Shah and Imad Wasim managing to pick up one wicket each.
In response, Islamabad United collapsed under pressure and were bowled out for 154 in 19.3 overs. Imad Wasim top-scored with 56 runs, while Ben Dwarshuis chipped in with 31.
Quetta’s bowling attack, led by Mohammad Amir with 3 wickets, along with Abrar Ahmed and Faheem Ashraf claiming 2 each, sealed the commanding victory.
Before the match began, the stadium observed a one-minute silence in memory of those martyred in recent cross-border attacks, and the national anthem of Pakistan was played to honor the moment.
