Quetta Gladiators’ fast bowler Mohammad Amir has said that he always prepares a specific plan when bowling to Babar Azam, acknowledging the Peshawar Zalmi skipper as a top-class player.
During a recent PSL 10 match against Peshawar Zalmi, Amir dismissed Babar Azam and celebrated in a fiery and animated fashion, a moment that quickly went viral on social media. Another moment that caught viewers’ attention was a calm exchange between Amir and West Indies legend Sir Vivian Richards, who appeared to advise Amir to remain composed.
Speaking after the match, Amir clarified that there is no personal animosity on the field. “There’s no fight with anyone in the ground. Aggression is part of fast bowling—that’s the beauty of it,” he said. “Fans enjoy that intensity as well.”
Amir reiterated his respect for Babar Azam, saying, “Babar is a great player. I always come with a plan when facing him. If I’m getting him out, so be it—but my focus is always on my bowling, not who is batting.”
