
Kathmandu: Pakistani players showcased outstanding performances at the South Asian Youth Table Tennis Championship, winning 2 silver and 4 bronze medals. The event was held in Kathmandu, Nepal, where the players participated on a self-financed basis, highlighting their commitment and talent despite financial challenges.
In the Under-15 Mixed Doubles event, the duo of Abdal Khan and Zaneera Khan played brilliantly to reach the final against India. Despite a strong fight, they narrowly lost and secured the silver medal.
Abdal Khan also competed in the Under-15 Boys Singles final, where he faced an Indian opponent. Although he couldn’t clinch gold, he delivered an impressive performance and claimed another silver medal for Pakistan.
The Pakistani contingent also bagged four bronze medals across different events. In the Under-15 Boys Doubles, Abdal Mohammad Khan and Noor Khan secured bronze. Taha Bilal and Zaneera Khan also earned bronze in the Under-19 Mixed Doubles event. The Under-19 Boys Team, comprising Abdal Mohammad Khan, Taha Bilal, Attaul Mannan Malhi, Mutahir Ameen, and Musa Ameen, won bronze in the team competition. Meanwhile, the Under-15 Boys Team, featuring Abdal Mohammad Khan, Noor Khan, and Abu Hurairah, also secured bronze.
