Layyah: In the heart of Southern Punjab, the Department of Education Layyah organized a vibrant Sports Gala, bringing together male and female educators in a celebration of sports, teamwork, and healthy recreation. The event aimed to promote harmony, physical fitness, and mutual camaraderie among teaching staff across the district.
The ceremony was graced by distinguished guests including CEO Education Ms. Shazia Tauseef, DEO Elementary Ms. Rukhsana Kausar, DEO Mr. Kazim Hussain, Deputy DEO Ms. Maimoonah Aram, Assistant Education Officer Ms. Muneebah Qayyum, and Senior Headmistresses Ms. Shaheen Fareed and Ms. Rashida Ashraf.
Throughout the event, teachers enthusiastically showcased their talents in various inter-tehsil competitions featuring table tennis, badminton, and tug-of-war. Their impressive performances received resounding applause from the audience, highlighting the spirit of sportsmanship and dedication.
At the inter-district level, educators participated in cricket, badminton, table tennis, and tug-of-war, with the Layyah Cricket Team standing out by defeating traditional rivals, much to the joy of local supporters. The badminton finals at the inter-division level saw a thrilling match between Layyah and Muzaffargarh, where Muzaffargarh’s women’s team emerged victorious. However, Layyah’s male and female teams clinched wins in the tug-of-war competitions.
