Lahore: Former captain of the Pakistan women’s cricket team, Nida Dar, has announced a break from cricket, citing mental health challenges. The seasoned all-rounder took to social media to share her decision and requested privacy during this period.
Nida revealed that the recent personal and professional pressures had taken a toll on her mental well-being. “A lot has happened regarding my personal and professional life lately, which has deeply affected my mental health,” she stated. “I’ve decided to take a break from cricket to focus on myself.”
Her announcement comes after she was excluded from the squad for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifiers. Although she was called up for the pre-tournament camp in Faisalabad, she was not included in the final squad due to fitness concerns.
Nida was later advised to participate in the upcoming National T20 Cup, a domestic event, but she declined and officially stepped away from all cricketing activities for the time being.
