In a shocking development during the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) season, Rajasthan Royals have been accused of match-fixing following their recent narrow loss to Lucknow Super Giants.
According to Indian media reports, the allegation has been made by Jaideep, the convenor of the Ad-Hoc Committee of the Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA). He claimed that the match between Rajasthan Royals and Lucknow was “fixed,“ raising serious concerns about the integrity of the game.
Jaideep openly questioned the outcome, stating, “Even children could see that the match against Lucknow was fixed. How can a team lose on their home ground when just a few runs are required?” He added that the ad hoc committee was constituted by the state government, further adding a layer of political involvement to the matter.
The match in question saw Lucknow Super Giants defeat Rajasthan Royals by just 2 runs in what many saw as a tightly contested encounter. However, these recent allegations cast a shadow over what appeared to be a regular IPL thriller.
As of now, there has been no official response from Rajasthan Royals or the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) regarding these allegations.
