
LAHORE: Bangladesh Women delivered a strong performance as they defeated Scotland by five wickets in a warm-up match for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier 2025, played at the LCCA Ground on Sunday.
Chasing a competitive target of 252, Bangladesh Women reached the finish line with composure, thanks to a composed unbeaten knock of 57 from Sobhana Mostary. She was well supported by Farzana Haque, who contributed a solid 48, and Ritu Moni, who added 34 valuable runs to the chase.
Scotland’s bowling unit struggled to contain the Bangladeshi batters, though Chloe Abel emerged as the most successful bowler with figures of 2 for 33. Darcey Carter also picked up a wicket, conceding 34 runs.
Earlier in the day, Scotland won the toss and chose to bat first, posting a competitive total of 251 for 7 in their allotted 50 overs. Sarah Bryce led the batting effort with a fine 58, while Darcey Carter chipped in with 55 and Katherine Fraser remained unbeaten on 52. Captain Katherine Bryce also played a brief but impactful knock of 31.
Bangladesh’s bowlers kept things tidy in the middle overs, with Marufa Akter taking 2 wickets for just 22 runs and Ritu Moni claiming 1 for 22.
