
Karachi: For the first time in Pakistan’s history, the Under-23 World Squash Championship has officially begun at the DHA Creek Club in Karachi, marking a significant step in reviving the country’s legacy in the sport. The prestigious international event has brought together 64 players from 22 countries, creating an exciting and competitive atmosphere.
The opening ceremony was attended by several dignitaries, including Senior Vice President of the Pakistan Squash Federation Air Marshal Kazim Hammad, who expressed pride in hosting this global tournament on Pakistani soil. The event aims to not only promote squash in the country but also re-establish Pakistan’s lost dominance in the sport.
Participating players praised the hospitality of Pakistan and lauded the professional arrangements made for the event. The championship carries a total prize pool of $60,000 and will run until April 10, offering young talent a platform to showcase their skills on an international stage.
