Hamilton, New Zealand: New Zealand’s key batter Mark Chapman has been ruled out of the second ODI against Pakistan due to injury, dealing a significant blow to the team.
The second ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand is set to be played tomorrow, with the hosts leading the three-match series 1-0 after securing a 73-run victory in the first match.
Left-handed batter Mark Chapman played a spectacular knock of 132 runs in the first ODI, guiding his team to a strong total. However, during the match, he suffered a right hamstring injury while fielding.
According to New Zealand Cricket (NZC), an MRI scan confirmed a Grade 1 tear, requiring a short rehabilitation period. As a result, Chapman has been ruled out of the second ODI.
To fill the void, New Zealand has added Tim Seifert to the squad as Chapman’s replacement.
