The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has encountered a setback in its efforts to revive cricket in Peshawar, as the Arbab Niaz Stadium has been deemed unsuitable for hosting a PSL exhibition match.
According to sources, the stadium was set to host an exhibition match on April 8, but PCB’s inspection team raised concerns about the facilities. The board had previously instructed officials to ensure all necessary arrangements were completed before the Eid holidays.
Reports suggest that the second tier of the stadium is not ready to accommodate spectators, and the relevant authorities have expressed their inability to complete the required work on time.
A final decision on the venue’s suitability is expected within the next couple of days, but there are strong chances that the match will be shifted to another location.
