Pakistan’s former cricketer Kamran Akmal and his wife, Aiza Akmal, recently appeared on a private TV show, where they shared interesting details about their marriage and personal life. The couple opened up about how their relationship was arranged and the emotions they experienced before tying the knot.
How Did Kamran Akmal and Aiza’s Marriage Happen?
Aiza Akmal revealed that their marriage was arranged by their families. Kamran was a school friend and cricket teammate of her brother, Umar Akmal. It was actually Umar Akmal and Kamran’s brother who first thought of their marriage and convinced their parents to proceed with the proposal.
Aiza shared, “My first meeting with Kamran’s father happened when he visited our house after my brother’s accident. Later, he returned with Kamran’s mother, and that’s when our marriage was finalized.”
Why Were Kamran and Aiza Sad About Their Engagement?
Aiza recalled that Kamran was upset when their engagement was arranged. Kamran confirmed this, saying, “I was unhappy at first because I wanted to focus on my cricket career. I had just returned from a West Indies tour when my parents informed me about the marriage plans. I was against it and stayed upset with my parents for a week. However, when I met Aiza for the first time, I changed my mind and agreed to the marriage.”
When and Where Did Kamran and Aiza Meet for the First Time?
Aiza shared an amusing memory about their first encounter. “I first saw Kamran at my brother’s school, where he was invited as a special guest. At that time, I didn’t like him at all. When our marriage was proposed, I initially refused because I wanted to continue my studies, and I also didn’t want to marry a cricketer.”
Kamran added that Aiza was hesitant because of the common perception that cricketers have many affairs. “She was right to think that way, but now she knows I have settled down,” he joked.
