New Delhi: Indian Test cricket team captain Rohit Sharma is reportedly considering withdrawing from the upcoming Test series against England due to his disappointing form in red-ball cricket.
According to Indian media reports, Rohit Sharma has already made the decision to step away from the series. This could pave the way for Virat Kohli to retain his spot in the squad for the crucial five-match Test series.
Sharma’s recent performances in Test cricket have been underwhelming. In the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, he managed to score only 31 runs in three Test matches. Additionally, he had previously withdrawn from the Sydney Test against Australia due to similar concerns.
India’s 45-day tour of England is set to begin on June 20 with the first Test match at Headingley. The highly anticipated series will see India and England competing in five Test matches.
