
New Zealand’s captain, Tom Latham, has been ruled out of the upcoming three-match ODI series against Pakistan after suffering a fractured right hand during net practice. According to New Zealand Cricket (NZC), Latham sustained the injury when a ball struck his right hand, making him unavailable for the series.
As a replacement, Henry Nicholls has been added to the squad. Meanwhile, Michael Bracewell, who led the team in the recent T20I series, will continue as captain in the ODIs. The wicketkeeping duties in the series will be handled by Tom Blundell.
Additionally, Will Young will be available for only the first ODI, as he will leave the squad for the birth of his child. Rachin Ravindra will replace Young for the remainder of the series.
The ODI series between Pakistan and New Zealand is set to begin on March 29, with the remaining matches scheduled for April 2 and April 5. The first match will take place at McLean Park, Napier.
New Zealand recently clinched the five-match T20I series against Pakistan with a dominant 4-1 victory. The hosts will now aim to continue their winning momentum in the 50-over format.
