Pakistan’s top-order batter Saim Ayub has received good news regarding his recovery after sustaining an injury during the Test match against South Africa.
According to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) sources, Saim Ayub has successfully completed his rehabilitation and has now returned to Lahore, where he will undergo a fitness test at the National Academy.
Sources further revealed that the young batter will celebrate Eid in Karachi with his family before resuming cricketing activities.
The PCB has confirmed that Saim Ayub’s participation in the upcoming Pakistan Super League (PSL) is dependent on his fitness clearance. However, medical reports from the UK have been encouraging, raising hopes for his return to competitive cricket.
It is important to recall that Saim Ayub sustained an ankle injury while fielding during the second Test match in Cape Town against South Africa. He had to leave the field with the support of medical staff.
Following his injury, PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi directed special arrangements for his treatment, after which Saim Ayub traveled to London for medical attention under the supervision of former cricketer Azhar Mahmood.
