Karachi: Former Pakistani fast bowler Shoaib Akhtar has humorously offered to get former Indian batter Virender Sehwag’s name registered in the Guinness Book of World Records.
Sehwag recently shared a video on his social media account, referencing his iconic triple century in the 2004 Multan Test against Pakistan. The Indian cricketer has mentioned this achievement several times in the past.
Shoaib Akhtar, seemingly frustrated by the constant reminders, responded with a video addressing Sehwag directly. He remarked that Sehwag has been playing the same tape for the past 20 years, repeatedly highlighting his 300-run milestone.
“I am tired of hearing this over and over again. It’s the same tape playing for 20 years—300, 300, 300! Brother, I was there when you played that inning. No doubt, it was a brilliant knock,” said Akhtar.
The Rawalpindi Express added, “Enough now! If you want an entry in the Guinness World Records, I can arrange it for you—as the player who has mentioned a 300-run innings the most times in history.”
Akhtar further claimed he has genuine connections with Guinness World Records, saying, “If you need an entry, I can get it done because I have the real record.”
It is worth remembering that Virender Sehwag’s 309-run innings in the 2004 Multan Test helped India secure a historic victory over Pakistan.
