
Doha— Pakistan secured a proud moment at the Asian Masters Weightlifting Championship as 65-year-old Maqsood Amjad Rathore clinched a gold medal in the 96kg category of the 65-year-old age group.
Rathore lifted a total of 125kg, with 55kg in snatch and 70kg in clean and jerk, earning the top podium spot for Pakistan in the championship being held in Doha, Qatar.
The ongoing championship features 10 Pakistani athletes, with competitions running until May 31.
Maqsood Rathore’s remarkable achievement at this age highlights the growing presence and resilience of veteran athletes in international sports.
