
Sharjah witnessed a nostalgic and thrilling moment as cricket legends and former international stars gathered to play in Pakistan’s iconic tape ball cricket format at the historic Sharjah Cricket Stadium.
Among the most notable names were Shahid Afridi and Inzamam-ul-Haq, who returned to the field, bringing back memories for fans across the cricketing world. Sri Lankan star Tillakaratne Dilshan also joined the event, ready to take the crease with a tape ball in hand.
In an interview, Inzamam-ul-Haq highlighted that almost every Pakistani cricketer starts with tape ball cricket. He emphasized that participating in this format is not a step backward but a great way to discover new talent.
Shahid Afridi expressed excitement about returning to his roots, saying,
“I started my cricket journey with a tape ball, and now playing it again at Sharjah is a very special feeling.”
