The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has received a green signal from the government to proceed with the proposed tour of Pakistan, which is expected to feature a five-match T20I series.
According to a BCB official quoted by an international sports website, although the official approval letter is still awaited, the government has given principal clearance for the tour. “We’ve received verbal approval from the authorities. The official letter is expected soon,” the official confirmed.
Once the clearance is formally documented, the board plans to initiate discussions with the players, as some members have expressed concerns about traveling due to security reasons.
Earlier, the BCB stated that it was waiting for a final nod from the government before engaging with players regarding the Pakistan tour.
Currently, Bangladesh is on a short tour of the UAE, where they will play two T20 matches on May 17 and 19. Following that, the team is expected to travel to Pakistan for a five-match T20I series, which was initially scheduled to begin on May 25 in Faisalabad.
However, due to the rescheduling of PSL 10, adjustments in the itinerary may be necessary. Further updates are expected once the formal letter is issued and discussions with the players are held.
