New Delhi: Rising tensions between India and Pakistan have started impacting the Indian Premier League (IPL), as several Australian cricketers playing in the tournament are now seeking flights out of India.
According to Australian media reports, many players are hoping to leave India for Dubai or return home to Australia as early as today or tomorrow. Some may depart by the weekend. The uncertainty has reportedly unsettled players, especially after their recent match in Dharamshala.
There are currently 15 Australian players participating in IPL 2025, including prominent names such as Pat Cummins. In addition, former Australian stars Ricky Ponting and Justin Langer are involved in the tournament in coaching roles.
The geopolitical situation has cast a shadow over the IPL, with growing speculation that the tournament may face delays or even suspension if the conflict escalates further.
