Islamabad: The escalating tension between Pakistan and India has cast uncertainty over the upcoming T20 series between Pakistan and Bangladesh, which was scheduled to take place from May 25 to June 3 in Pakistan.
According to sources, the five-match T20 series was set to begin with the arrival of the Bangladesh team on May 21. The first two matches were planned in Faisalabad, while the remaining three were scheduled to be played in Lahore. However, the current regional tensions have led to discussions between the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) regarding the series’ status.
Officials from both boards are in consultation, and a final decision about the series is expected soon.
It is worth noting that the ongoing strained situation has already impacted cricket in the region, as the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10 has been moved to the United Arab Emirates. Only the revised schedule for the remaining PSL matches is yet to be announced.
