Lahore: In what turned out to be one of the most thrilling contests of HBL PSL Season 10, young batter Hasan Nawaz powered Quetta Gladiators to a dramatic 2-wicket victory over Islamabad United at Gaddafi Stadium, Lahore.
Chasing a target of 158, Quetta found themselves in a tense situation needing 15 runs off the final over with only two wickets in hand. Rising to the occasion, Hasan Nawaz held his nerve under immense pressure and smashed two massive sixes, turning the game on its head.
Adding to the drama, Islamabad United’s fielders dropped three crucial catches of Hasan Nawaz in the final over, which proved costly. Seizing those lifelines, Nawaz capitalized with fearless hitting and sealed the victory by launching a towering six on thed-to-last delivery of the match bowled by Mohammad Shehzad.
Nawaz remained unbeaten on 64 runs off 41 balls, playing a match-winning knock that will be remembered for its composure and impact.
With this win, Quetta Gladiators successfully chased the 158-run target, finishing at 160/8 with just one ball remaining in the 23rd match of the tournament.
