
Lahore: In Match 22 of the HBL Pakistan Super League Season 10, Peshawar Zalmi, led by Babar Azam, secured a convincing 6-wicket victory over Islamabad United at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium.
After winning the toss, Islamabad United opted to bat first and posted a total of 143 for 9 in their 20 overs. Sahibzada Farhan top-scored with 36 runs, while Ben Dwarshuis added a useful 33.
Peshawar Zalmi’s bowling unit delivered a collective performance. Mohammad Ali starred with 3 wickets, while Luke Wood, Alzarri Joseph, Ahmed Daniyal, Saim Ayub, and Hussain Talat each chipped in with one wicket.
In response, Peshawar Zalmi comfortably chased down the 144-run target in 17 overs, losing just four wickets. Maaz Sadaqat played a key role with a composed 55, while skipper Babar Azam remained unbeaten on 53. The duo built a match-winning 102-run partnership for the fourth wicket.
From Islamabad’s bowling side, Kyle Mayers, Ben Dwarshuis, Naseem Shah, and Meredith each took a wicket but were unable to halt Zalmi’s chase.
With this win, Peshawar Zalmi now has 6 points from 7 matches in the tournament.
