
Hamilton: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has fined the Pakistan team for maintaining a slow over rate during the second ODI against New Zealand.
Pakistan was found to be one over the required quota within the stipulated time, leading to a 5% fine on the team’s match fees. Captain Mohammad Rizwan has accepted the penalty.
Notably, Pakistan was also fined for a slow over rate in the first ODI of the series.
In the second ODI at Seddon Park, Hamilton, New Zealand secured a dominant 84-run victory over Pakistan, gaining an unassailable series lead.
The hosts posted 292/8 in 50 overs, with Mitchell Hay scoring an unbeaten 99 runs. In response, Pakistan was bowled out for 208 runs, despite Faheem Ashraf’s 73 and Naseem Shah’s 51-run effort.
