
Former Pakistan Test cricketer Farooq Hamid has passed away at the age of 80. His family sources have confirmed the sad news.
Farooq Hamid played one Test match for Pakistan and featured in 43 first-class matches, where he showcased his talent as a fast bowler, claiming 111 wickets in his career.
He made his Test debut for Pakistan in 1964 against Australia at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG).
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) expressed deep sorrow over the passing of the former Test fast bowler.
PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi also extended his condolences, praying for the departed soul and offering support to the grieving family. He stated, “May Allah grant him the highest ranks in paradise and give strength to his family to bear this loss. Ameen.”
