
Lahore: Pakistan’s women’s cricket team is making final preparations for the ICC Women’s Cricket World Cup Qualifier, with players expressing confidence in their training camp held in Faisalabad.
Wicketkeeper-batter Muneeba Ali highlighted the importance of the camp, stating, “The training camp has been extremely beneficial for us. We had not played the 50-over format for quite some time, and this camp provided us with a great opportunity to prepare well.”
She further added that various team combinations were being tested during the camp and that players were being assigned roles based on the team management’s strategy. “We have been learning how to execute our roles effectively according to match situations,” she explained.
Muneeba also emphasized the advantage of playing at home, saying, “The host team always benefits from home conditions, and we will try our best to capitalize on this advantage.”
All-rounder Najia Alvi also expressed optimism about the team’s preparation, stating, “We have worked a lot on our fitness and skills during the camp. We have been training twice a day, focusing on both practice sessions and conditioning drills.”
She assured fans that their hard work would be visible in the qualifiers, adding, “We have been putting in immense effort day and night, and you will see the results in the qualifiers, InshaAllah.”
Najia further acknowledged the significance of hosting a major international event in Pakistan, saying, “After the Champions Trophy, this is the second biggest cricket event happening in Pakistan. We are determined to make the most of our home conditions and qualify for the World Cup.”
