
Rawalpindi: In Match 27 of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 10, Karachi Kings clinched an impressive 23-run victory over Peshawar Zalmi at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Peshawar Zalmi won the toss and opted to field first, but Karachi Kings posted a mammoth total of 237/4 in their 20 overs. Skipper David Warner led the charge with a blistering 86-run knock, followed by a classy 72 runs from James Vince. Khushdil Shah contributed a quickfire 43, while Mohammad Nabi chipped in with 26 runs. Irfan Khan added 2 runs before being dismissed.
In the bowling department for Zalmi, Luke Wood took 2 wickets, while Ali Zia and Aarif Yaqoob claimed one wicket each.
In response, Peshawar Zalmi fought valiantly but could only manage 214/5 in their 20 overs. Captain Babar Azam played a magnificent innings, scoring 94 runs, but couldn’t take his team over the line. Other contributions came from Saim Ayub (47), Tom Kohler-Cadmore (20), and Maaz Sadaqat (19)*, while Mohammad Haris (9) and Max Bryant (7) failed to make an impact.
On the bowling front, James Vince surprisingly starred with the ball as well, picking up 3 wickets, while David Warner claimed one.
Prior to the start of the match, the national anthem was played. PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir were present at the stadium, adding prestige to the evening’s proceedings.
